Day 1: Bamako Arrive in Bamako, be meet by your guide and transfer and Overnight hotel in Bamako.
Day 2: Bamako city tour. Today, you will explore this capital city of Bamako situated on the Niger, one of Africa's great rivers. Mali is a country of many tribal peoples, each with your own exuberant styles of clothing and jewelry. Overview at the hill of Point G, Bamako has a large art and craft center where sculptors, weavers, leather workers, jewelers and metal workers exhibit their wares and skills.
You will visit the Grand Marché, or "Great Market", where you can spend hours exploring the hundreds of stalls. From carvings and cassettes, to fabrics, beads, brass and gold, the variety of goods is staggering. One area of the market is devoted entirely to traditional African medicines, the national museum, the museum of Bamako and overnight at your hotel. Includes: (B).
Day 3: Bamako - Sankoroba - Sikasso. Breakfast and drive to Sikasso via the village Sanankoroba where there is the biggest orphan center in Mali, “Village SOS de Sanankoroba” created in August 1987 by Harman Gmeiner a germany, he himself was an orphan, visit the center school, meet the children and drive to Bougouni area to see the citys local palm beer production center, and visit also of traditional mining sites around Bougouni, continuation to Sikasso. Overnight at your hotel. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 4: Sikasso. Breakfast and city tour, the vestige of Tata, the tomb of Tieba, and “Le Centre de Recherche pour la promotion et la Sauvegarde de la Culture Senoufo” then drive to visit the Cave of Missirikoro Caves, the caves near the village of Missirikoro, used as both a mosque and a place for animist worship. The caves are dotted with the remains of worship – animal skulls being the most notable. Return to Sikasso overnight at your hotel. Includes: (B, D).
Day 5: Sikasso - Bobo Dioulasso. Breakfast and depart for Bobo-Dioulasso, the second largest city in Burkina. Arrival to Bobo followed with the city tour (the mosque, the old quarter called Dioulassoba, and the central market, back to the hotel for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, we will visit the town’s museum. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Includes: (B).
Day 6: Bodo Dioulasso - Banfora. Breakfast and heading west towards Banfora where we will have lunch, Tour to the Karfiguela waterfalls and to Fabedougou rock domes in the afternoon. Drive back to Banfora. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Includes: (B, L).
Day 7: Banfora - Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (365 km). After breakfast depart from Banfora for Burkina Faso's capital city, Ouagadougou, arrival and city tour of Ouagadougou: visit the Grand Market and the National Museum, with its interesting collection of regional clothing, masks, household utensils and ancestral statues, also visit the crafts markets at the Artisans' Center, where you will find basketry, batik fabrics, wooden statues and masks, jewelry, leather work and bronze castings, overnight in Ouagadougou (hotel Relax Ouaga, or similar) with breakfast.
Day 8: Ouagadougou - Tiebele (180 km) - Tamale, Ghana (280 km). Depart Burkina Faso for Ghana, with a visit en-route to Tiebele village, in Gourounsi country, visit magnificent fortress-like houses and compounds, colorfully painted with traditional motifs, onward to Tamale for overnight (Gariba Lodge, or similar) with breakfast.
Day 9: Tamale - Kumasi (390 km). Onward drive through the countryside to Kumasi, in Ghana's Ashante country, visit Kumasi: the National Cultural Center, the Manhyia Palace, and the Kejetia market, the largest market in West Africa, an unforgettable melange of colors and sounds, overnight in Kumasi (hotel Georgia, or similar) with breakfast
Day 10: Kumasi – Kakum National Park - Posuban. Early morning departure for a drive through the historic Denkyira Kingdom to Kakum National Park, one of West Africa’s surviving tropical rain forests. Extending over 360 sq km, Kakum is the home to over 40 large mammals and 400 bird species as well as many species of butterflies, flora and fauna. The most popular attraction is the Canopy walkway which is made up of seven bridges extending 330 m, hanging 30 m (100 feet) above the forest floor.
Choose between a 2 km nature walk through this forest to discover the wide variety of exotic floral species and the medicinal values they offer or take a walk on the canopy walkway. After lunch, spend the remainder of the afternoon at the beach after a visit to the Posuban Military Shrine where the Asafo companies, (Fanti traditional soldiers), prepare spiritually for war. These shrines are wonderful examples of how art is used in the daily lives of Ghanaians. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Elmina. Lodging: 3-star. Includes: (B),(D)
Day 11: Cape Coast/Elmina (225 km) - Accra (150 km). Continue your southerly drive to Cape Coast, visit the Cape Coast Castle, former bastion of the Atlantic slave trade, now a UNESCO World Heritage site, excursion to nearby Elmina, to visit the fishing harbor and the original old town, enjoy a walking tour of St. George's Castle, finish with a stroll to St. Jago Hill for a panoramic overview of historic Elmina, drive to and overnight in Accra (Novotel Accra, or similar) with breakfast.
Day 12: Accra - final departure. City tour of Accra, including the National Cultural Center, the National Museum, and the Nkrumah Mausoleum, walking tour of James Town, and shop for local crafts at the Trade Fair Center, in the evening, transfer to the airport for your final departure with breakfast
